Eleven Mile Canyon - The Southe Platte River snakes along parallel with the road the entire length of this canyon and is a popular spot for fisherman not to mention a favorite recreation area for the locals. It is a beautiful drive complete with tunnels and the road dead ends just before you get to the spillway of Eleven Mile Reservoir. There are campgrounds located along the drive that have toilets, water, picnic tables, and fire rings. If planning to camp, reservations are highly suggested...877-444-6777. Directions: From Woodland Park, take Hwy. 24 west for 18 miles. When you get to the town of Lake George, turn left at County Road 96. Go one mile and make a right into the canyon. Day use fee is $5.
